Hi there,

I’m Alex :)

I’m a poet, writer, artist based in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Poetry came to me as a form of therapy — a way to reflect, release, and connect my soul with the souls of others. Turns out, we’re not so different after all.

In my twenties, I realized how much I loved engaging with community. I wanted to offer more than just words — I wanted to create spaces where people could express, relate, connect, or simply breathe more deeply.

So, I started small:

  • Hosting poetry nights

  • Collaborating with therapists for monthly healing gatherings

  • Applying to artist residencies

  • …and one day, I sat outside with my old Royal typewriter and wrote custom poems for strangers.

I fell in love with it.

It was thrilling — a quiet kind of intimacy. A dance between presence and poetry. A way to step into someone else’s world, even if just for a minute.

That was four years ago.
I haven’t stopped since.

Now, you’ll find me:

  • Popping up at jazz nights, weddings, and backyard events

  • Taking custom poetry commissions (love letters, grief rituals, vows, odes, handmade books)

  • Helping people find the words they didn’t know they needed

  • Building workshops and retreats to huddle up and be human together

I write for myself, too — and I’m currently working on my first collection of poetry and prose.

When I’m not wrapped up in words, you’ll find me in the garden, laughing with friends, sleeping under the stars, or stirring up something new in the kitchen.
